Why sign?
Many organisations are very concerned about the potential loss of equality and rights protections due to Brexit. As the UK’s relationship to the EU changes, there is increased risk that our legal rights framework is weakened. We are also concerned about the continuing negative rhetoric around rights in the UK.
We want to send out a clear message to policy makers across the UK and beyond, that organisations in Scotland view equality and human rights as vital to our society. We do not want these rights to be reduced. Instead we want to see them strengthened and growing. We want transparency and participation to underpin all discussions on legal rights.
