Scottish Rural Action
We all have a responsibility to protect the basic human rights of ourselves and others. The European Convention on Human Rights sets out an agreed and widely accepted series of rights that protect our freedoms. The Human Rights Act gives us the opportunity to defend those rights in the UK and places a responsibility on public organisations to treat people equally, with dignity, respect and fairness. There is no reasonable cause for reducing, removing or eroding in any other way our fundamental human rights in the UK.
